Higher, Further, Faster, More!

I've faithfully followed Carol Danver's meteoric rise from a b-lister to one of the biggest A-listers in Marvel thanks to her relaunched title by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Dexter Soy, and I was ecstatic to learn that she's getting her very own film in 2018 which I'm so pumped up for. While as Ms. Marvel I was already a huge fan, her transformation to Captain Marvel as a symbol of strength and gender equality was something I really applauded, and she's grown to be one of my favorite heroes in comics today. 

Obviously one of the best things about the change was her costume, and I'm so in love with the new militaristic redesign they did for Carol that also reflects the original costume of Mar-Vell. The inks I did for her here worked out really well, and I like how the finish of the red and blue parts of her outfit looks like they're of different material thanks to the difference in rendering I did. I also went for her newer short-trimmed hairstyle which I prefer instead of the radical mohawk she originally had. The energy beaming out of her hands was an idea inspired by the cover of Captain Marvel #9, which I think gives the piece way more character and flair.

As a proud member of the Carol Corps I always had Carol in my to-do list and I'm glad I finally got to depict her in her new look. I personally think this came out truly marvellous (forgive the pun), and I'm really happy with how it turned out! For now, the wait for her solo film will be torture, but here's hoping they cast Carol soon! I'm personally looking at Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Yvonne Strahovski or Katheryn Winnick for the role! Who do you guys think should be casted for Captain Marvel?
