Iron Fist

My last submission was more than a month ago since I've been drowning in so much school work, but I made sure that I still kept working so as to not lose momentum. After a handful of edits on my old pieces I decided to finally work on someone new, and I chose someone who not many people are familiar with but is entirely awesome in his own right, the immortal Iron Fist!

I chose Iron Fist as my next piece mainly because I wanted to do a kung-fu pose and I was itching to text myself with newer things to try. I tried researching first a few martial arts stances before getting to work, and I opted for a fairly simple pose as seen here. I also did lots of work on Danny Rand's body structure since I really wanted to pop out all those lean muscles to give off that edgier kung-fu look.

For his costume, I preferred to go for his newer outfit with a few simple twists of my own. I added seams throughout the costume to put more details, and instead of leaving his forearms bare I put some bandages on them to look more martial arts than usual. The boots also have those "ninja" style toes. The yellow in his costume was a fairly simple shade, and I had to choose between green and white to the base, eventually opting for green since he's more known for that color. The flames on each of his hands were really fun to do too, and I think they ended up looking really cool and adding more to the piece as a whole.

Iron Fist here is technically my first martial arts piece and I'm glad with how it went. Even if I've never read a story on Iron Fist apart from New Avengers, I've always thought he looked so badass and his characterization more unique as compared to the usual kung-fu guy. I may have been away for a month and a half but I'm glad this piece is finally done and posted. Spirit of the dragon!!
